Fluence refers to the amount of laser energy delivered per square centimeter of skin and is measured in Joules/cm². The right amount of energy is crucial for effective hair removal. If too little energy is used, the hair follicle will not heat up enough to be destroyed. If too much is used, it could damage the surrounding skin(Motus AY User Manual '22).

When treating lighter skin types, higher fluence settings can be tolerated because less energy is absorbed by the surrounding skin. For darker skin types, lower fluence is recommended to avoid damaging the melanin in the skin.

Interactive Exercise: Provide an interactive slider where users can experiment with fluence settings and see how different levels affect light absorption and heat generation in various skin tones.
